In our efforts to promote a greener carbon footprint and a healthier life, we are offering you information to make your life a little greener. There is so much information out there on living green; so how do you know what is good and what is bad? You don't. You have to place in your trust in those who have used certain products, been to certain sites, and have done their research. The advice I can share is to read all product labels well. Know what different ingredients do what and if they are safe for our bodies and safe for the environment when the product and containers are disposed of. Don't be fooled by catchy wording on products. Buy products that have the natural certification on them. Click here for labels to look for. Know that just because a product says, "Made from natural ingredients" on it, it DOES NOT mean that all the ingredients are derived from natural sources. It's important to research what natural or plant derived ingredient names are so you are well informed. But don't just stop with the ingredients, know also how well the container will break down once disposed of....or if the container is recyclable. And if it is recyclable, please take it where it can be recycled. We can show you how to set up a simple recycling system in your home. It's not difficult. We should be cautious of containers that have lids with higher numbers on them (these take longer to biodegrade) and containers with lower numbers on them (these biodegrade faster and are easier to find recycling spots for). Just keep in mind that not all plastics are created equal! Final Touch Designs will be working toward our LEED certification in an effort to learn as much as we can, then bring that information back to you in the form of classes, our business, and to help the community. We look forward to absorbing as much as we can, then sharing it. By being a "green" Home Staging & Redesign company, we are always looking for ways to incorporate new ideas into our trainings, our projects, and on our site. We are the first "green" Home Staging company in the Roanoke area, so we are committed to providing our clients, and anyone who visits our site, accurate and up-to-date information. We welcome any ideas and sites you know of to share with our viewers. We hope you find this information useful and helpful. Let's all work together to educate our economy. It all begins with YOU.
